VALUES

A good way of thinking of values is by asking, “What gets my heart pumping?” It’s why we do what we do. Our values ultimately dictate our actions. Here at The Bridge, we have five main values at our center:

As demonstrated by…

  • Humility; understanding our own brokenness
  • Refreshing authenticity
  • Real-life (not put-on, “religious”) people
  • Scripture: Luke 14:11, Luke 18:9-14,           Philippians 2:3-4, Ephesians 4:25

As demonstrated by…

  • “All of life” worship of Jesus
  • Loving Jesus together
  • Seeking to live by God’s Word and the Holy Spirit’s leading
  • Scripture: John 4:24, John 16:13,         Hebrews 10:22

As demonstrated by…

  • Beyond-a-handshake concern
  • “Come as you are” invitation
  • “Welcome to the family” hospitality
  • Scripture: Romans 12:13, 1 Peter 4:9,           Hebrews 13:1-2

As demonstrated by…

  • Sharing God’s abundant generosity through sacrificial gifts to others
  • Giving when it doesn’t benefit us, including to our community and other churches
  • Faithful giving according to God’s Word (as a sign of trust and love in Jesus)
  • Scripture: 2 Corinthians 9:6-7,                   Proverbs 19:17, Acts 20:35

As demonstrated by…

  • Respecting and speaking well of other Christians, Pastors and churches
  • Friendships beyond the walls of our church
  • Praying and serving together with other Christians/churches for a common purpose
  • “Blood-Pen-Pencil” motto
    • “Blood” – Essential Theology
    • “Pen” – Guiding Beliefs
    • “Pencil” – Personal Convictions
  • Scripture: John 17:23, Ephesians 4:13,         Psalm 133
